Violation of this policy

Members cannot state an intention to inflict violence or serious harm to a specific person or group of people. Intent can be defined to include phrases such as “I will,” “I’m going to,” and/or “I plan to.” This includes any statements shared via chat or during a group session alluding to the intent to inflict injuries that can result in lasting and serious harm, including:

Non-violation of this policy

The use of strong language as means to convey a hyperbolic message between group members is permitted, as long as it’s clear there’s no violent or abusive intent (e.g., “I’d kill because I’m so happy to see you again.”).

Although indirect or vague threats and wishing or hoping for someone’s physical harm are not enforced under this specific policy, these may be reviewed by other policies that are enforced in tandem, including hateful conduct and harassment & criticism.

Reporting a violation of this policy

Everyone can report a violation of this policy. We invite (and ask) every single member to use their voice - it is a powerful, amazing tool to stand up for others. Bystanderism propagates erroneous messaging (e.g. stereotypes) and allows for violent acts to go unchecked.

Members can report violations of this policy:

  1. Email [email protected]
  2. Direct Message your facilitator (learn more here)

Consequences for violating this policy

Violation of this policy will result in immediate membership suspension and no refund. ****

In situations where another member has reported a hyperbolic message, Pace will suspend your membership until the Care Safety Team can investigate further.

After reviewing, Pace may either suspend (message violates the policy) or unpause your membership (message doesn’t violate the policy).

If you believe your membership was mistakenly suspended, **learn more on how to appeal here.**
