Pace’s mission is to unlock emotional connection together. Each group fosters a space for members to experience connection, insight, and personal change. Inappropriate behaviors hinder the member experience. While Pace welcomes members to be fully themselves, we’ll not tolerate behavior that directly violates any of our policies.
Enforcement principles
Different perspectives, ideas, beliefs, and/or viewpoints are part of the Pace experience. Pace empowers members to show up as fully themselves and encourages people to have a conversation about different opinions in a kind and respectful manner.
For Pace, context is extremely important in understanding when and why a situation breaks one of our policies. When determining if the Care Team should take enforcement action, Pace considers multiple factors, including but not limited to:
- targeted harassment towards another member;
- the situation was reported by the target or bystander;
- member’s previous history of policies violation and its severity.
Suspensions
Suspensions can be temporary (up to 3 months) or permanent and will happen if you’ve violated any member and chat rules and/or policies. Some of the reasons for suspension include, but are not limited to:
- Abusive behavior: reported by the facilitator and/or other members. This includes targeted abusive behavior, like threats, among others.
- Safety risk: the Care Team and your facilitator believe you might be an imminent danger to yourself and/or others.
- Poor member etiquette: reported by the facilitator and/or other members, including, but not limited to, breaking member and chat guidelines, like using drugs or drinking alcohol during sessions, breaking privacy and confidentiality guidelines, among others.
Appeals
If you believe your account has been mistakenly suspended, we offer members an opportunity to appeal this decision.
- Email us: email [email protected] and provide as many details as possible to help us make a fair determination.
- Review: we collect information from the facilitator and other members of the group. This includes understanding previous history and/or if there was feedback offered previously. The reviewing process can take up to 14 days.
- Decision:
- Member non-violation:
- Your membership is reinstated and you can request to join a different group.
- Member violation:
- Membership is suspended for 3 months. This will remove you from any active groups you’re currently a part of and suspend your membership. You’ll also no longer be able to use chat or explore the Pace app. No refund is provided.
Members can re-appeal after the 3-month suspension, request to join a new group, and reactivate their membership. At this point, the Care Team will:
- Invite you to a chat: we want to make sure that Pace is a good fit for you.
- Evaluate: understand if, at this moment in your life, Pace is still a good fit.
