Rules of Pace (RoP)
1) Show Up
The first step is being there. Show up on-time weekly - for yourself and your group members.
a) Show up on time to session
b) Inform your group if you’re missing session(s) - no ghosting
c) Be present and engaged
- No multitasking
- Find a quiet, solo spot
- No substance use just before or during session
d) Keep your camera on
2) Armor off
You’ll hear ‘Go Further’ a lot. It’s how we ask others to open up and share with total honesty because we want to listen. And usually, you’ll hear back that you’re not the only one feeling that way. Care for yourself responsibly, sharing in a way that is a small stretch, not “pulling a muscle.”
a) Avoid solely advice-giving
b) Be open and willing share
3**) Group is a team sport**
The best teammates are curious about others, share the mic and ask each other questions. We may not always agree with each other, but we encourage you to listen deeply and assume positive intent.
a) Share the mic - no monopolizing group time
b) Be respectful even as differences may arise
c) Keep all group sharing confidential
d) No soliciting other members
Member Behavior Policy
Every member gets 3 flags. The rules aren’t checked by Pace, they’re checked by you and your fellow members - Pace just provides the feedback loop for members and facilitators to decide what they’d like to see from others in group.
We all want a safe, thriving community. Members reported 3 times for not following the RoP in a 6-month period are removed from Pace.
Here’s how it works:
- Members and facilitators report feedback. Pace is just the messenger.
- Member Feedback Notice: Members and/or the facilitator can report feedback on a member in a Pop-session or group that is not following the Rules of Pace.
- The member report is sent to the facilitator and facilitators have 24 hours to dismiss or escalate the report, otherwise it’s sent to the member.
- If the feedback report is sent to the member, facilitators offer guidance to the member via chat to help improve their skills as a Pace member prior to the next session.
- Dismiss: If this is NOT a valid report of a RoP violation, the facilitator replies “Dismiss” and no further action will be taken.
- Facilitator follows up with the member that submitted this feedback via chat to gain better understanding prior to the next session.
- Escalate: If this RoP violation deserves more immediate action and/or potential member removal, the facilitator replies “Escalate” and provides relevant details to Pace.
- Behaviors that can result in immediate removal from Pace:
- Member Feedback Report #1: If a member is **reported **by another member, they’ll be informed that we received feedback that they have violated a RoP.
- These reports are anonymous
- Their facilitator will also receive a notification and will follow up with guidance prior to their next session
- Member Feedback Report #2: On the 2nd feedback report in the same facilitator’s group, the facilitator will have the option to share the feedback and provide further guidance or may decide to remove the member from the core weekly group, and/or block them from attending their other Pop-up sessions on the platform.
